Tips for Traveling to Jeddah

Visitors to SAUDIA with legitimate Hajj or Umrah visas are allowed to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the international airports of Jeddah, Madinah, Yanbu, and Taif. Once you arrive in Mecca for Hajj, you will not be permitted to leave Saudi Arabia until the Hajj period has ended unless you get special authorization from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

During the Hajj period in Jeddah, certain restrictions are in place:

  • Access to Mecca is limited to Muslims with Hajj permits.
  • Specific transportation routes may be closed or controlled.
  • Only passengers with a Hajj Visa will be accepted on JED (Jeddah) and MED (Medina) flights.
  • Passengers with business and commercial visas will not be permitted on JED (Jeddah) and MED (Medina) flights.
  • For passengers with Government, Diplomatic, Official, Diplomatic Mission, and Organization Visas, admission processes to JED (Jeddah) and MED (Medina) flights require pre-approval. It is advisable that guests with these visa types arrive early at their departure stations.
